I ran this race this past October for the second year in a row. I had posted my pictures on my Facebook and Instagram pages but neglected to post my race recap here on my blog.
I was fortunate to be asked to be a race ambassador again this year which means that in exchange for a complimentary race ticket, I promote their race by sharing my training, coupon codes for registration and my experiences during the race.
I wasn’t sure how well I would be able to run my 8k race that Saturday morning because my back was bothering me so I decided I would just go at my own pace and walk and jog as necessary.
It REALLY helps my knees and back when I use my athletic Rock Tape before a race. Have you used Rock Tape or KT Tape before? Its AMAZING!! I prefer Rock Tape because it says on for days…
The night before was race packet pickup which went smooth. I picked up both my sons race packets and mine since we live local to the race. I absolutely LOVE my long sleeve shirt I got!
Ready for the race!
Pictures with both my boys before the race. My teenager did the race with me and my youngest did the kids race.
Happy that I finished! The terrain is SO pretty running up and down the rolling hills of downtown Salem, around the YMCA, and the neighborhoods. I train in neighborhoods and on hills, but if you don’t-be prepared for all the rolling hills!
They always do such a great job with race packet pickup, friendly volunteers during and after the race, post race food (Thank you Chick fil-a!) and stretching areas! My son and I are planning on doing this race again this year and I hope to be selected as a race ambassador again this year so I can share a coupon code with all of you.
