Once Upon a Summertime (Follow Your Heart Book #1): A New York City Romance
By: Melody Carlson
I have never read anything by this author, but I enjoyed reading this light, romantic book. The story follows Anna who moves away from her very small town to take a job in New York City managing a new hotel- a dream come true! She happens to run into a former crush and childhood friend while on her first day of the job and sparks seem to fly right away between them. However, neither of them can be in a relationship with each other and still keep their current job!
I liked Anna’s work ethic and determination to keep focused and to take pride in her job. I loved reading about Anna’s and Sean’s dates and how they got along. I really enjoyed the book until the last chapter and then felt like it was ridiculously rushed and totally unrealistic. I still liked it though.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book from Revell Books, a division of of Baker Publishing Group, in exchange for an honest review on my blog and social media-all opinions are my own.
