Broken Things to Mend (Power of the Matchmaker)by Karey White

Celia is a woman who is feeling broken and ready to leave her past behind. She randomly picks the town of Sister, Oregon to start a new life. Although she is in her young 20s she has already had a hard life and was orphaned very young. She meets an old Chinese woman at the bus stop who is kind enough to help her find her luggage and a place to stay. As Celia starts to get to know the towns people of Sister, Oregon; she begins to feel hope and love again.

Celia and Silas have both had a lot of heartache and pain, but they learn to work together to find peace and forgiveness. This was an emotional story but not so emotional that I found it depressing and hard to read. It has real emotions and struggles, but still “light enough” for a romantic read.

I love that although this is a stand alone book, the Matchmaker (older chinese woman) is a big part of this story and other stories to come in a year long series.

I received a complimentary copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review on my blog and social media-all opinions are my own.

Book Description:
***This book is part of a multi-author project that features one recurring character–the match maker–but it is a STAND-ALONE novel.***

Celia is in desperate need of a change–a change of scenery, a change of pace, and a complete redo of all relationships. Not knowing what else to do, she opens a map, closes her eyes, and lets fate decide her future. Then she packs her meager belongings and buys a one-way ticket to a little town on the fringes of Oregon’s Deschutes National Forest called Sisters. She’s wanted a family for years. Will she find one in Sisters?

What Celia doesn’t plan to find is a strange Chinese woman whose meddling ways keep throwing her in the path of a handsome, but reserved, forest ranger. But no matter how kind or dependable Silas seems to be, there are some things in Celia’s past that neither of them can escape, and this time, the damage might be too much to mend.
