The Anthem Star 10K-Blue Ridge Marathon race series 2018 RACE RECAP #RunBlueRidge #brm26pt2

The moment you’ve all been waiting for….

My race recap from my Anthem Star 10k race-America’s Toughest Road Race-I ran the the end of April. Say what?! Yes…I forgot to post my race recap even though I posted lots of pictures and videos on my social media sites and Facebook. Sorry!

On Friday, the afternoon before the race, I went downtown with my friend Sarah to race packet pickup. It was in a different location than last year which was better because there was LOTS more room and it was very organized.

I did have an issue with my race registration and the guy was really rude to me about it but it all worked out in the end. (no tshirt size was listed and my vip band was missing)

SO EXCITED that I got a FREE pair of FEETURES socks at the expo-best athletic socks ever! Grabbed some Skratch Labs products and went back home to get ready and packed for my 10k race the next morning.

Race Packet Pick up

Night before the race and packing all my favorite things… All taped up with Rock Tape and ready for some mountains and elevation!

Getting ready for the race to start…my friend Sarah and I always get there super early (this was our 2nd year together) so we can walk around to warm up then stretch.

on the course…the weather was perfect!! (unlike last year which rained-ugh!)

The Fleet Feet Roanoke Recovery tent was AWESOME!! I didn’t get a massage done, but I did do foam rolling and lots of stretching. hooray!

Overall Thoughts:

*Course well marked

*Lots of friendly faces and help along the course

*MUCH better post race food than last year!

*awesome recovery tent

The only disappoint was something happened to my online registration because my tshirt size wasn’t listed so I had to get one from the “extra” bin thus not getting my correct size, no VIP band, my name wasn’t announced when I crossed the finish line, and my bib number/name wasn’t listed anywhere online under the final race pictures. I had to manually scroll thru them all to find mine. 🙁

I definitely plan on doing the 10k again next year! I absolutely LOVE the course! I hope to be selected as a race ambassador for next year so I can bring you all a special discount and race entry giveaway for next year.
