“Yoga for Kids and Their Grown-Ups” by Katherine Ghannam

“Yoga for Kids and Their Grown-Ups: 100+ Fun Yoga and Mindfulness Activities to Practice Together” by Katherine Ghannam

This book begins by explaining about mindfulness and the benefits for kids participating in yoga practices, such as building flexibility, balance and concentration.

This book is divided up into 13 different chapters which include breathing exercises, basic poses, yoga games, relaxation, meditation, yoga sequences, etc.

I liked that in Chapter 2 called family yoga time-that it offers suggestions with how to structure sessions based on ages and what would be beneficial to them for their age range. I found it very helpful since I have a 7-year-old and 16-year-old. I highly recommend reading chapter 2 because it also has tips, safety with practicing yoga, and suggestions on where and when to practice.

On every page it shows the name of the yoga pose, a picture of the pose, step-by-step instructions on how to do that pose, tips, suggested age range (all ages, 5 and up, etc.), and what kind of pose (strengthening, energizing, grounding, heart opening, rejuvenating, soothing, concentration, calming).

Cute water color pictures, easy to read, easy to do. We have really enjoyed this book! I highly recommend it and it’s great for all ages!

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.
