The bars vary in weight from 3 pounds to 18 pounds. I am currently using the 8 pound ActivMotion bar.
Which bar(s) are best for me?
Don’t stress about choosing the right ActivMotion Bars – every weight will give you a great workout! But when making your decision, take into account your fitness level, age and goals. If you’re a beginner, new to exercise or think you can’t handle heavier weights, opt for the 4.5 or 6 pounders. The 10 pound ActivMotion Bar is popular with those who are reasonably fit, the 15 pound bar with those who consider themselves in very good shape, and the 18 pound bar for advanced users who are stronger than average.
If you are a Pilates instructor or are using the AMB for Pilates, the 4.5 pound is by far the best choice.
