This was a delightful story of Evelyn and her young charge Polly and their journey to start a new life. After their orphanage burns to the ground, they flee to another town called Mesquite Springs, Texas and come across kind hearted Wyatt and his family. As Evelyn and Polly start a new life and home together, Evelyn can’t help but feel “The watcher” has found them and once again is trying to kill them.

Steady plot, great characters, light suspense and romance throughout the story… loved the small town feel and townspeople. The ending was unpredictable which was nice and the story kept my interest from beginning to end. I really enjoyed it!
