“Worth the Risk” by Heather B. Moore

Worth the Risk (Pine Valley series #1) by Heather B. Moore

This story is book 1 to a new series called “Pine Valley” and is off to a great start! I really enjoyed reading this steady pace, clean romance book. Alicia was a great character and I liked her interactions with others-strong but kind.

Readers get a glimpse into the life of living with a hoarder and how an addiction like that can affect others emotionally and physically. This book was a prefect example of how sometimes friends and outside help can be the exact thing that person needs to get help. Although this book dealt with addiction, mental health, forgiveness and divorce; it was still light hearted and quick and fun to read. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to meet more characters in this series.

“Ruth” by H. B. Moore *biblical fiction review*

“Ruth” by H. B. Moore

I had anxiously been waiting several months to read this story once I knew it would be released. I love reading biblical fiction books and I especially love reading books by author Heather B Moore. I have read and loved everything (I literally mean everything!) that she has written and this book was no exception.

The chapters alternate between Ruth and Boaz’s stories which was really interesting. I loved reading from both their perspectives and I really liked both of their strong characters in this book.

Wonderful, descriptive storytelling-highly recommend! I absolutely loved this clean, romantic, biblical fiction.

About the Book

Master storyteller and best-selling author H. B. Moore brings to life the biblical account of Ruth as never before in this vivid retelling of her courageous and faithful life.
Following the death of Ruth’s husband, she finds herself at a crossroads. Rather than return to her family and hometown, the young widow makes a remarkable decision: she will remain with her mother-in-law, Naomi, as her caretaker and companion.

Together, the two widows boldly leave behind the lives they knew in the land of Moab and make their way to Bethlehem, arriving downtrodden and destitute. Though Ruth works day and night to provide for Naomi, it is ultimately through the kindness and generosity of Boaz that the two women find respite from their trials. As Ruth comes to know Boaz, she finds that her broken heart is beginning to heal in ways she could never have imagined. But when a question of inheritance threatens any hope of a life with Boaz, Ruth may have to give up the last piece of her heart in order to secure her future.

“A Familiar Fear” by Kathi Oram Peterson *book review and giveaway*

“A Familiar Fear” by Kathi Oram Peterson

I have read other books by this author so I was really looking forward to this one! Unfortunately my 16 year old son took it to read as soon as it came in the mail so I had to wait to read it. 😉 Lots of suspense, action, and violence due to the subject matter.

Steady, fast paced plot which kept me on the edge of my seat the entire night reading it. I liked the main characters Riley Scoot, Matthew Taggart and their 2 kids. I couldn’t imagine running for my life while trying to protect my kids and family from the Russian mafia.

You won’t be disappointed reading this clean suspenseful book-Very well written!

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

About the Book:
Ex-FBI agent Riley Scott lives each day with the scars of her former career. After the murder of her husband and the recent attempt on her own life by the Russian mafia, her heart is irrevocably broken. Agate Island seems like the perfect place to begin building a new future for herself and her teenage son, yet even before the ferry docks at their new home, Riley realizes there will be no escape for her. There, on the boat, is mafia boss Maksimillian Petruso—the man who took everything from her. The man she killed.
Matthew Taggart knows who Riley is and understands her reaction to his resemblance to Maksimillian Petruso. But Matthew is nothing like his estranged criminal father. So far, he has been able to hide from that evil world. However, he’s afraid Riley’s appearance on the island may lead his family’s mafia connections to his doorstep. After all, she is the agent who took down his father. Matthew needs to leave town. Fast. Unfortunately, when the family wants to find him, there is nowhere he can hide. Now he and Riley are thrown together in a dangerous connection, and learning to trust each other is their only hope of survival.
