“Serial Burn” by Lynette Eason

Jessilyn who is the fire marshal of Lake City is determined to find the arsonist who killed her family. After appearing on TV at the 20th year anniversary of her family‘s death, she pleads with someone to come forward with information about the arsonist, promising that person will be brought to justice. That interview then begins a chain of events like multiple fires being started all around town and Jessilyn being targeted and running for her life-which leaves her with even more questions. FBI special agent Nathan is called in to help the local fire department and to get to the bottom of who is targeting the town and Jessilyn. As they both dig deeper into files and follow leads; Jessilyn quickly learns that sometimes digging into the past has a way of changing the future.

This was an on-the-edge of your seat, lots of drama and twists, Christian fiction book with some light romance. I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend this series!

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Now the fire marshal of Lake City, Jesslyn McCormick is determined to find the person who started the fire that robbed her of her family when she was just seven years old. As the twentieth anniversary of the tragedy approaches, a string of fires–including at Jesslyn’s church–brings up all those old feelings and offers new evidence.

Because church fires are considered a hate crime, FBI Special Agent Nathan Carlisle is called in to work with local law enforcement. Nathan has his own past–one he’d prefer not to revisit. And focusing on helping Jesslyn track down the arsonist is a great distraction.

As both the case and the chemistry between Jesslyn and Nathan heat up, memories will come flooding in from the past to bump up against hopes for the future. And when Jesslyn comes face-to-face with her worst nightmare, she’ll have to confront her fears and rely on Nathan and her community of friends in order to survive.

Storm Warning (Hidden Bay #1) by Elizabeth Goddard

I loved reading this book which was the start to a new series called Hidden Bay. There were so many unexpected twists and turns with lots of mystery and suspense- I loved it! Once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down.

Both Remi and Hawk find themselves at the same lodge in Washington state-one is trying to forget the past, the other one is desperately trying to remember. I really liked both of the main characters. They were both strong and determined, along with helping each other to figure out who was targeting them and wanted them dead.

If you like on the edge of your seat, clean Christian fiction-you will love this new book and series! I found it inspirational and intriguing! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions and views expressed are my own.

“SugarFreed” (Stop Losing the Weight Loss Battle, Start Gaining the Victory) by Christine Trimpe

“Learn the science, apply the science and change your life”! I love in the very beginning of her book that the author explains a crucial step in the weight loss process is commitment to action. This book has a lot of great suggestions, including making faith and God a part of your health journey! Throughout the chapters she includes scripture references and journaling prompts. She also goes into detail of the signs of food/sugar addiction and all the research that she’s learned along the way on her own health journey.

Her book includes lifestyle rules and her top five resources that I also found interesting to look up. I really liked her HEART acronym with viewing health and wellness:

❤️ Handle your emotions.
❤️ Examine your thoughts.
❤️ Ask for motivation.
❤️ Run with courage.
❤️ Take action!

I recommend reading this book if you want practical tips and read research about sugar addiction to help improve your body, mind and spiritual health!

My Review:

I absolutely loved this holiday heartwarming story! It reminded me of all the feel good hallmark Christmas movies I love to watch!

I loved getting to know Maple Glen Vermont and the McAllister family. The setting was so descriptive, it made me feel like I was there hiking in the snow and drinking hot chocolate with them around the fire.

Devon visits Maple Glen in honor of her late brother but ends up getting rescued by firefighter Finn and his family when she has an accident hiking. The McAllister family dynamics with multiple generations all living together in the same house was realistic with the expectations, miscommunication, patience, and grace towards each other.  I liked getting to know their family and town and how they befriended a total stranger and made her feel loved and welcomed in their home.

I really enjoyed reading this clean romance by the Harlequin Heartwarming series! I can’t wait to read more books from Maple Glen Vermont.
