“Framing the Marshal” by Sharee Stover REVIEW

Framing the Marshal (Love Inspired Suspense) by Sharee Stover

I really enjoyed this interesting, action packed, love inspired suspense book! I have read several books by this author and have enjoyed them all! I like her writing, interesting relatable characters, steady plot that always includes clean romance and lots of action/suspense.

US marshal Riker finds himself accused of murdering a famous gang member and ends up on the run. Technology savvy Eliana has been assisting his department and also gets swept up in the drama and running for her life. I liked the interactions between the two of them and working out miscommunications and compromises along the way.

I always love the K-9 element to the love inspired suspense books-they are one of my favorite kinds of stories. It always makes me sad when I read about characters choosing revenge or allowing their hard life circumstances to dictate and ruin their future. I usually get emotionally invested in the characters of a book, despite knowing its fiction.

Highly recommend this quick, action packed, loveable K9 suspense story! I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Proving his innocence….may cost him his life…

After a brutal attack, US marshal Riker Kastell regains consciousness only to find a murdered gang member in his mudroom. Even worse, Eliana Daines—his ex-sweetheart—has a DNA program that pinpoints him as the murderer. And Eliana’s technology has them both targeted by criminals. Now he and his K-9 must protect Eliana…and find the killer who looks just like Riker before they become the next victims.

Critical Threat (Extreme Measures Book #3) by Lynette Eason

Critical Threat (Extreme Measures Book #3) by Lynette Eason

I have read all three books in this “Extreme Measures” series and this author is one of my favorites who I have been reading for a long time. I don’t particularly like reading serial killer books but this story wasn’t graphic and had great characters and an interesting story line.

FBI Special Agent Grace Billingsley and psychiatrist Sam Monroe end up being called in to work another case together when more bodies keep showing up with a similar MO. Lots of drama and action in this fast paced, clean Christian fiction.

I enjoyed the twists and turns and how well Sam and Grace worked together, protected and understood each other. Although the plot was about finding a serial killer, it didn’t end being graphic which I appreciated. I can’t wait to read more books in this series!

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

About the Book:
FBI Special Agent Grace Billingsley tracks serial killers, using her skills as a psychiatrist and behavioral analyst to get dangerous people off the street and safely behind bars. But prison psychiatrist Sam Monroe knows that just because a killer is incarcerated doesn’t mean they’re not a threat. His own father, Peter, is a serial killer–in prison but certainly not out of Sam’s life, as much as he wishes he was.

When bodies start showing up with Peter’s MO, Sam and Grace are both called in to consult. They’ve met before–and though Grace thought they’d made a real connection, Sam ghosted her. They’ll have to get past the awkwardness and mistrust to solve this case–especially because it’s about to get personal.

USA Today bestselling author Lynette Eason doesn’t give you time to catch your breath in this breakneck race to stop a serial killer.

“Targeted” by Lynette Eason, Lynn H. Blackburn, Natalie Walters

Targeted: Three Romantic Suspense Novellas by authors Lynette Eason, Lynn H. Blackburn, Natalie Walters

“Targeted” is a collection of three romantic suspense novellas (short stories).

“On the Run” by Lynette Eason includes 20 chapters and although it’s a short story, I felt like the plot and characters were very well developed. Dr. Ryker meats FBI IT Specialist Daria after she is attacked and is treated in his ER. The two of them worked well together and it was interesting (and such a small world) that they found they had some common acquaintances. I also enjoyed hearing about secondary characters from older Lynette Eason books that I have read. Clean romance, lots of suspense and action, with awesome characters!!

“Deadly objective” is the second novella and includes 18 chapters and an epilogue with main characters physical therapist Emily and Secret Service agent Liam. They both find themselves protecting The Second Lady of the United States (SLOTUS) along with her teenage son Mason from a possible threat. This story had great characters-even ones from previous Lynn Blackburn books! Clean romance with steady suspense and action!!

“Caught in the Crosshairs” is the third novella and includes 17 chapters and an epilogue with main characters CIA officer Claudia and Ari. This was probably my least favorite story of this collection because I had a hard time connecting with the characters and story line, but it still included good suspense and action.

What an awesome collection of stories with amazing authors! Highly recommend this collection!

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Get ready for triple the excitement, intrigue, and romance with three heart-stopping stories from your favorite romantic suspense authors!

In On the Run, Lynette Eason introduces you to IT Specialist Daria Nevsky, a highly skilled FBI agent with the ability to hack any computer. She must go on the run to find out who wants her dead–and Dr. Ryker Donahue refuses to let her do it alone.

In Deadly Objective, Lynn H. Blackburn throws physical therapist Emily Dixon and Secret Service Agent Liam Harper into an impossible situation. They don’t know why the vice president’s son seems to be in the crosshairs of a killer, but they’ll sacrifice anything to keep him safe.

In Caught in the Crosshairs, Natalie Walters pits former Army PSYOPS officer Ari Blackman against his colleague, CIA officer Claudia Gallegos, when Claudia is implicated in the murder of a Saudi prince. Can he prevent a coup that would put America at risk?

MY REVIEW

Great characters and steady, interesting story plot that kept my interest from beginning to end. There were alot of (non graphic) action and suspense which kept me on the edge of my seat. I liked the ending and that it wasn’t predictable.

I liked getting to know Jude, Seth, Felicity and Nora throughout and their interactions with each other. Great holiday book about love, forgiveness, second chances, faith and family. I have read the other Desert Justice by this author and have enjoyed them as well.

I would recommend this to anyone wanting a quick, easy to read, suspense book!

More from Dana

Well here we go! Book five in the Desert Justice series features Nora (Chief Jude’s estranged sister), a wild donkey who needs rescuing, and a crime from the past that intrudes into the present. Twisty, right? I was inspired to write this story after visiting Death Valley and learning about the feral donkeys which inhabit the region. They’re cute, visitors love them, but the burros can encounter health problems and cause environmental damage if they aren’t settled into a safe area. It’s amazing to me that wild donkeys are adept at detecting underground water sources. They dig “wells” which can benefit many thirsty animals. Fascinating, right? Hope you’ll enjoy meeting Bubbles the donkey and the helpful humans who rescue her in this novel. God bless and thanks for reading!
