MY REVIEW

This was a sweet romance about second chances, forgiveness and family.

Retired from the Navy, Wes goes to visit his sister in Bliss Texas were he runs into Laurel who he hasn’t seen in years since a convention in Las Vegas. Laurel is now a single mom to Sarah-Jane and trying to make a difference in the small Texas town all while trying to keep a secret that could alter lives forever.

Easy to read story with great characters and full of emotion. I loved reading about God’s love and his hand in their individual lives. I really enjoyed reading it!

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

My Review

I really liked the main character Lawson Avery and reading about his family and ranch. I also liked the amnesia and twin element to the story.

There was alot of drama, action and twists which kept me reading non stop until I finished it. I liked the ending except for the last two pages, which seemed very unrealistic to my opinion. Other than that, the book was really really good!

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

More from Virginia

Thanks for joining me for a brand new adventure. TEXAS TWIN ABDUCTION is the first book in my new Cowboy Lawmen series and it’s a departure from what I normally write. I love writing about cops and serial killers so when my editor first suggested the cowboy/western theme, I was hesitant. I’m a city girl at heart so this was so far out of my comfort zone! But I couldn’t resist for long. After all, who doesn’t love a cowboy? Thankfully, I found a way to merge what I loved—law enforcement, FBI, US Marshals—with the cowboy/family themed books my editor wanted to see by making my group of hero brothers a family of law enforcement types with ties to the family ranch. The best of both words. Score!

Book one in this new series, TEXAS TWIN ABDUCTION, begins with my hero, little brother Lawson Avery, in a quandary. All he ever wanted out of life was to run his family’s Texas ranch, but his ex-fiancée Ashlee’s final words to him as she skipped out on their wedding was that his desire for the simple life made him unambitious and unworthy of her love. Her words broke him, sending him searching for something more meaningful to do with his life, eventually winding up as a deputy in the sheriff’s office. But, despite law enforcement being in his blood, Lawson finally realized that life wasn’t for him and made plans to return to the ranch. However, his plans are sidetracked when he finds Ashlee unconscious on the side of the road in a bullet-ridden car with no memory of him or their past together. When it becomes clear that someone wants her dead, Lawson steps in to act as her protector. But will digging into the mysteries of her past cost him the future he still longs to have with her?

I hope you enjoy this book and this brand new series! Look for the next book—older brother US Marshal Miles Avery’s story—coming in TEXAS HOLIDAY HIDEOUT this October.

Rocky Mountain Revenge (Love Inspired Suspense) by Rhonda Starnes

Rocky Mountain Revenge (Love Inspired Suspense) by Rhonda Starnes

I read this book in one day because I really really enjoyed it and couldn’t put it down! This is the authors first love inspired suspense book and she absolutely hit the ball out of the park (in my opinion)!

Great characters, twists and turns, bad guys, action, suspense, and clean romance. Single dad police chief Evan was a great character who I found caring, attentive and smart. Grace was a spunky, smart vet who cared about animals and her sister. Both were great, likeable main characters.

The story line kept my interest from beginning to end and I read it without stopping-I highly recommend it! I cant’ say enough great things about it!

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

Not Over You (Prosperity Ranch Book 3) by Heather B. Moore

Not Over You (Prosperity Ranch Book 3) by Heather B. Moore

I have now read all three books in the Prosperity Ranch series and I have greatly enjoyed them all. I have loved getting to know the Prosper family, their ranch, triumphs and struggles over the past three books.

This story focuses on Knox-the prodigal son as he comes back to town to face the people he wronged and had left behind. I enjoyed reading about his personal growth and his friendship with Jana. I loved all the characters and really liked Jana’s courage and how she dealt with her family.

Quick, easy reading-really enjoyed! Clean, contemporary fiction full of laughter, tears, regrets, forgiveness and love.

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

About the Book
He left her behind. She’s spent years ignoring him. But some things can never be forgotten.
Knox Prosper knows he can never go back in time and correct his mistakes, so he has to find a way to move forward, and start a new life. Become a better man, and a father, if only for his young daughter. His regrets have taught him to simplify and to focus on what’s real and important. Returning to his hometown to ride in the rodeo gives him a chance to spend time with his daughter and to continue mending bridges with the rest of his family. But what he doesn’t expect is to run into Jana Harris—the first woman he loved—the woman who faded from his life years before because Knox continued to mess up one thing after another. Someone as good and as sweet as Jana is the last person he deserves. Hope is dangerous. And hope can break his heart once again. Yet Jana might be the one person with the power to redeem his past once and for all.

Reunion at the Shore (The Off Season Book 2) by Lee Tobin McClain

Small town romance, easy to read story about second chances and love.

Although the author touches on life alternating events like divorce, teenage peer pressure, drama, drugs and suicide; I found it realistic, heartwarming and hopeful.

USA TODAY bestselling author Lee Tobin McClain watched Dr. Zhivago way too young and developed a lifelong passion for angsty romance.
