Standoff (Natchez Trace Park Rangers Book #1) by Patricia Bradley

Standoff (Natchez Trace Park Rangers Book #1) by Patricia Bradley

Great start to a brand new series!

I loved the main characters Luke and Brooke and how their past friendship made it easier for them to work together to figure out the deaths in their town. Lots of steady action and suspense from beginning to end which kept my interest and had me reading this book in one day because I didn’t want to stop. Can’t wait to read more in this Park Ranger series. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately for park ranger Luke Fereday, lately it’s being used to move drugs. Sent to Natchez to infiltrate the organization at the center of the drug ring, Luke arrives too late to a stakeout and discovers the body of his friend, park ranger John Danvers.

John’s daughter Brooke is determined to investigate her father’s murder, but things are more complicated than they first appear, and Brooke soon finds herself the target of a killer who will do anything to silence her. Luke will have his hands full keeping her safe. But who’s going to keep him safe when he realizes he’s falling–hard–for the daughter of the man he failed to save?

“Starfish Pier” (A Hope Harbor Novel Book #6) by Irene Hannon

“Starfish Pier” (A Hope Harbor Novel Book #6) by Irene Hannon

I think I have read every “Hope Harbor” book in this series and have loved every one!

I love the small town, the 2 town ministers, the seagulls and Charley the fish food truck man. Although every story is different with different main characters, they all take place in Hope Harbor and all mention some of the regular townspeople.

I enjoyed getting to know Steven, Holly, Patrick, Cindy and Pete. The story is lighthearted and easy to read but also deals with some heavy subjects like addiction, war, abortion, and suicide. The characters all have their different struggles like past guilt, medical issues, forgiveness, judgment… but they all use prayer, God’s love and serving others as their way to heal.

Touching characters, great stories…loved reading it from beginning to end! I highly recommend this book and this series. Each book can be read in order or as stand alone novels.

About the Book:
A year ago, ex-Delta Force operator Steven Roark left the rigors of combat behind to run fishing charters in Hope Harbor, decompress, and talk some sense into his kid brother. Business is good–but making peace with his past is more challenging than he expected.

First-grade teacher Holly Miller leads a quiet, low-profile existence–until she’s recruited to advocate for a cause that’s dear to her heart. When she solicits Steven’s assistance, sparks fly–especially after they find themselves on opposite sides of an issue that disrupts their placid seaside community.

As these two seemingly incompatible souls search for common ground, might they discover a deeper connection–and find that love can banish darkness and light the way to a future filled with promise?

My Review:

This was another fun “Northern Lights” Alaska novel. Great characters, fun story line… I loved Lauren and her courage and determination to get her goat farm and to help Gramma Bonnie. I never realized raising goats was that challenging (or funny!) I liked reading about the friendship and blossoming relationship of Lauren and Patrick.

I have really enjoyed reading these stories set in Alaska. The remoteness and beautiful land jumps from the pages and makes me wish I could visit.

Highly recommend this series of books! They can be read in order or as stand alone stories.

Her Cowboy Sweetheart (The Sweetheart Ranch #4) By Cathy McDavid

MY REVIEW:

I have read “The sweetheart ranch” books number 2 and 3 so I was really excited to read the next book in the series. I love the ranch setting where these books take place. It’s really fun and easy to read.

I really liked Carly’s character and I could relate to her being a protective single mom and hesitating to bring a man into her child’s life. Her battles with custody are emotional and very real and tugged at my heart strings. I loved how the ranch was a safe place for her and her son  to heal and move forward.

JD was also a great character! His passion to help others all the while struggling with his disease and trying to stay positive about life.

I laughed and got teary… lots of great emotions and events happening in this story! I can’t wait to read  more in this series! Highly recommend for a fun, easy read.

“Deadly by Design” by Paige Edwards

“Deadly by Design” by Paige Edwards

I have read other books by this author and I love that her characters and story line draw me in and are suspenseful; all the while being “clean” and free of band language and inappropriate scenes.

Even though I don’t know anything about cars and designs, I still enjoyed this story that was set mostly in England. Car explosions, car cashes, romance, suspense… this book had it all! I really enjoyed it and highly recommend!

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

About the Book:
For up-and-coming Formula One engineer Jack Pressley-Coombes, there is nothing better than the smell of rubber and the roar of a race car engine. When he witnesses a crash at the first international Grand Prix of the season, Jack makes a shocking discovery: his design is on a competitor’s car.
To keep Davis Racing Ltd., his British Formula One employer, from closing its doors, Jack goes undercover for MI6 to ferret out the company saboteur. When the investigation interferes with his and Gillian Buchanan’s blossoming romance, Jack can’t extricate himself from the web of deceit. But he’s not the only one with something to hide; Gillian also carries secrets. With time running out, the evil that walks the corporate halls of Davis Racing turns in Jack’s direction and threatens all that he holds dear.
