“A Borrowed Dream” (Cimarron Creek Trilogy) by Amanda Cabot

A Borrowed Dream (Cimarron Creek Trilogy) by Amanda Cabot

I really, really liked this book! Good steady plot with great characters! This story is #2 in the Cimarron Creek Trilogy but they can be read as stand alone books.

Austin and his daughter move to Cimarron Creek to escape a wanted dangerous criminal from their hometown. As a former surgeon/doctor, Austin must pose as a rancher and establish a new life for him and his daughter. He meets school teacher Catherine and as they work together to help his daughter and fellow neighbors, he has to decide if he can trust her with his secret.

I really loved the characters in this book. Catherine is passionate about helping her school kids and especially Austin’s daughter Hannah. I love reading about the small town and how they interact and help each other, especially in time of need.

Well written christian romance with some drama. I can’t wait to read book #3 in this series!

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

About the Book:
Catherine Whitfield is sure that she will never again be able to trust anyone in the medical profession after the town doctor’s excessive bleeding treatments killed her mother. Despite her loneliness and her broken heart, she carries bravely on as Cimarron Creek’s dutiful schoolteacher, resigned to a life without love or family, a life where dreams rarely come true.

Austin Goddard is a newcomer to Cimarron Creek. Posing as a rancher, he fled to Texas to protect his daughter from a dangerous criminal. He’s managed to keep his past as a surgeon a secret. But when Catherine Whitfield captures his heart, he wonders how long he will be able to keep up the charade.

With a deft hand, Amanda Cabot teases out the strands of love, deception, and redemption in this charming tale of dreams deferred and hopes becoming reality.
