We are sisters, a beautiful mosaic united by the love of God through the blood of Christ. We have experienced the redemptive, restorative power of God’s grace in our marriages and families, and we believe our God is able to heal, restore and redeem our brokenness. His love fills us with the courage to persevere, and to offer others a Christ-like compassion that is full of His wisdom and grace.

Janice L. Dick was born and raised in southern Alberta, Canada, into an ethnic Mennonite farm family. She has always loved stories of family heritage and the emigration of her people from Russia. Her aim is not only to share the faith journeys of her forebears, but also to showcase God’s sovereignty in the midst of that milieu. Besides historical fiction, Janice writes contemporary novels and short stories, blogs, articles and book reviews. Janice is the winner of the 2016 Janette Oke Award.

Favorite movies: Ever After, Indiana Jones…, National Treasure, Pride & Prejudice

Favorite quote or Bible verse: Psalm16:5-6 “Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure.The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.”

Favorite splurge/treat: Anything dark chocolate.

Favorite character you’ve created:  Debbie Doram McCormick (The Christmas Sweater)

Last 3 great books you read: Wings of the Wind – Connilyn Cossette, A Trick of the Light – Louise Penny, anything by Chris Fabry, also love Sara Rosett.

Dream vacation: Driving with my hubby wherever the road leads, for weeks!

Hidden talent/little-known fact: Used to ride a Goldwing (as a passenger).

Plotter or pantser: Plotter; I love lists and charts.

In no particular order, ten of your favorite things (i.e. hot cocoa, a warm breeze, the sound of my kids’ laughter, etc.) : My hubby, my kids, my grandkids, books, did I mention dark chocolate, low-maintenance friends, lol humor, freedom in Christ, green grass and trees, my home.

I read the other book that the author wrote that took place in Azure Springs (The Hope of Azure Springs) so I was looking forward to reading this one. The book description sounded intriguing and I liked the main character Penny. I liked her determination, love for writing and her quest for deep, meaningful love.

Unfortunately, the book didn’t keep my interest so I only read about half of it because I felt like the plot was dragging.

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

About the Book:
For three years, Penny Ercanbeck has been opening other people’s mail. Dead ends are a reality for clerks at the Dead Letter Office. Still she dreams of something more–a bit of intrigue, a taste of romance, or at least a touch less loneliness. When a letter from a brokenhearted man to his one true love falls into her hands, Penny seizes this chance to do something heroic. Rachel Fordham is the author of The Hope of Azure Springs. She started writing when her children began begging her for stories at night. She’d pull a book from the shelf, but they’d insist she make one up. Finally, she paired her love of good stories with her love of writing and hasn’t stopped since. She lives with her husband and children on an island in the state of Washington.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Angela D. Meyer lives in Nebraska with her husband of over 27 years. They have two children, both of whom they homeschooled and graduated. She is the author of the Applewood Hill series and is a contributor to The Benefit Package, a devotional compilation.

Angela graduated from college with a degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, but instead of working overseas, she spent several years in New England as a nanny. She co-teaches a women’s Bible study at her church and serves on the advisory board of her local Christian writers’ group, Wordsowers.

She enjoys the ocean, beautiful sunrises and sunsets and hopes to someday ride in a hot air balloon. Her aim in life is to love God and love others.

There is brokenness all around us and people turning to the wrong things for answers. Only God can make whole. I want my stories to be powerful in their showing of God’s truth, love and grace, lighting the path that leads directly to God.

Favorite place to read: In a recliner with my feet up.

Favorite book character from childhood: I remember whole books more than individual characters. My favorite book was The Little Engine That Could with a close second being Where the Wild Things Are.

Favorite movie: The Princess Bride

Favorite quote or Bible verse: Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deut. 31:6

Favorite splurge/treat: peppermint ice cream

Favorite character you’ve created: Joanne in Where Healing Starts. (Where Healing Starts is part of My Applewood Hill series is currently waiting re-release sometime after my Mosaic title.) Joanne is a rough character who truly experiences healing from great brokenness.

Last 3 great books you read: The Line Between (Tosca Lee), Never Let You Go (Erin Healy), The House on Foster Hill (Jaime Jo Wright)

Dream vacation: In a beach house.

Hidden talent/little-known fact: I took piano lessons for 7 years starting in elementary.

Plotter or pantser: A combination of both. I research any facts I need, do a rough outline, then let the characters take the  story where they want, filling in all the blanks.

In no particular order, ten of your favorite things (i.e. hot cocoa, a warm breeze, the sound of my kids’ laughter, etc.) : Sunrises/sunsets, birds singing in the early morning before the rest of the world is awake, the sound of ocean waves, dark chocolate, thunderstorms, fresh ripe fruit, a great book (suspense is my favorite), peppermint ice cream, family,

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Sara Davison is the author of the romantic suspense novel, The Watcher, and the romantic suspense series, The Seven Trilogy and The Night Guardians Series. She has been a finalist for eight national writing awards, including Best New Canadian Christian author, a Carol Award, and two Daphne du Maurier Awards for Excellence in Mystery/Suspense. I hope and pray that my message encourages readers to remember that they are not alone when they are going through tough times. We often don’t understand why God allows certain things to happen to us or those we love, but we can trust that he is good, that he is sovereign and in control, and that he will never leave us.

Hidden talent/little-known fact: I won the science award in eighth grade and several public speaking awards in elementary school – interesting because I now have very little interest in science and would rather do almost anything than speak in public

Plotter or pantser: Plottser? Pantter? Definitely a bit of both. I like a reasonable outline when I begin – for sure I like to know where I’m beginning and where I will end up and as much of the journey to get there as possible, but I also like to leave it open for the story and characters to take me where they will along the way.
