Her Twins’ Cowboy Dad (Montana Twins) by Patricia Johns

This was a cute, christian, cowboy story! Although it is book 2 of the Montana Twins series, it can be read as a stand alone book.

I enjoyed reading about the ranch life through Colt’s eyes and all the hard work and dedication it takes day after day. I liked the main character Jane and her determination to make a life for herself and her twin girls. Both Colt and Jane have had bad, dysfunctional family and extended family relationships so both are hesitant to be in any relationship, especially marriage.

For most of the book, they shared their struggles and complaints about family, love, and never wanting to marry-which kind of bummed me out because I was hoping for something more “uplifting” and positive to the story line.

Overall though, I enjoyed the book, characters and ranch setting!

Cold Dawn (Cold Harbor Book 7) by Susan Sleeman

I have read most of the Cold Harbor book series and highly recommend them! This one was also amazing! It had a great story line with lots of suspense and action. Burning buildings, car chases, murder…I read it in one day because I couldn’t put it down.

Sam (Samantha) and Griff (Matt Griffin) and Pepper (puppy) are the main characters in this story as they work together to figure out the death of their friend Andy. As they get closer to finding out what happened, they have to keep running for their lives to stay one step ahead of the killer. Lots of twists and turns-nothing is as it seems.

Throughout the book, Sam works on coming to terms with her past and misunderstandings, so she can move on to find love in her future. I really liked Griff’s determination and love to help Sam. They were both great, strong, passionate, characters!

The story also includes members of Sam’s team like Gage and Hannah from previous Cold Harbor books. I loved reading about the other team members and I’m sad to see the series end. I can’t wait to start reading the new series this author is writing next though.

MY REVIEW:

This is book 1 of the brand new “Cornwall series” set in Cornwell England in the early 1800s. This is a longer book (over 350 pages) so it took a couple of days to get thru. I enjoyed the steady pace of daily English living, along with some romance and drama.

Delia was a wonderful character-not afraid to take care of the 5 children she was governess of-even when times got tough! Readers get a glimpse into her tragic past before she became a governess and how she works hard to overcome it and be content with what life throws her way. I loved Jac’s aunt and her role with the children, and getting to know Jac through out the book despite the childrens opinion of him.

I enjoyed reading this historical, clean fiction and can’t wait to read more in this series!

MY REVIEW:
This was an intriguing, historical drama and romance book. Although this is book 3 in the High Sierra Sweetheart series, it can be read as a standalone book. If you’ve read the other books then you will recognize some of the characters mentioned but this story primarily focuses on Penny and John.

I liked how Penny and John worked together and used each other strengths to help in gathering clues and trying to capture a wanted man. This story had a good, steady pace. Lots of western action-I really enjoyed it!
