“Her Colorado Cowboy” (Rocky Mountain Heroes) by Mindy Obenhaus

Her Colorado Cowboy (Rocky Mountain Heroes) by Mindy Obenhaus

Another amazing Rocky Mountain Heroes-Cowboy story! I LOVE this series and the Stephens family! Great characters, small town, romance, feel good story… all wrapped into one.

This story (book 3) continues with one of the Stephens brothers-Noah-as the main character. Along with his other brothers mentioned in books 1 and 2 and his dad; they continue to expand the ranch to help the community and people around them. Out of town Lily and her children come to visit the ranch for the summer to take horse riding lessons. Along the way they all learn a lesson in patience, love, forgiveness and faith.

I truly can’t say enough great things about this story and this series. Once I started reading I didn’t want to put the book down until I was finished. I felt like I was there on the small Colorado ranch with the family experiencing the same things they did. I hope there will be several more books in this series to feature all 5 brothers but other town people as well.

Reunited in the Rockies (Rocky Mountain Heroes #4) will be released in Sept 2019.

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

20 days until #RunBlueRidge #brm26pt2 race day & training

Yesterday, Sunday March 24th marked 20 days left until RACE DAY! My friends and I decided to go up Mill Mountain one more time before race day this past Saturday. The weather forecast was suppose to be in the 60s with sunshine… instead it was 40s again but at least we had the sun!

Speed walking up the mountain started off good at first but within a couple of mins, I started having right foot issues with tingling and numbing. I still don’t know if it has my new shoes (I’ve worn them to workouts the past couple of weeks but not up the mountain yet) or my compression socks or both. Either way, I’m glad I found it out before wearing them on race day. I was so discouraged and struggling going up the mountain that I almost quit! When I got to the top however where its flat-my foot stopped bothering me. It also didn’t bother me going back down the mountain… it was strange and very discouraging. Because I was feeling better, we continued to walk on the greenway after coming off the mountain to get more miles in and ended up going a total of 7 miles!

As you can tell from my pictures below, the actual 10k race will take place on different types of road and terrain. Hopefully you’ve been training for that, as well as on hills and not just flat surfaces.

Also, don’t forget to hydrate before during and after, as well as wearing layers. I am definitely looking forward to warmer weather, especially for this race next month (hopefully)! I personally love drinking NUUN hydration! If you haven’t heard of them, you can check them out here: https://nuunlife.com/
I love that their products do not have artificial colors and preservatives and they don’t make my jittery or hyper… and the flavors are all awesome! They have a big selection of products. If you are local and would like to try a sample, let me know!

It’s not too late to sign up if you haven’t already! Don’t forget to use my promo code so you can save 20% off your race registration. See you on the mountain!

“In the Doctor’s Arms” (Seasons of Alaska Book 6) by Carol Ross

In the Doctor’s Arms (Seasons of Alaska Book 6) by Carol Ross
I haven’t read any other “Seasons of Alaska” books or any books by this author, but I found it easy to read this book so I would consider it a stand alone story.

I loved the setting of this book-a small town in Alaska. The author was so descriptive with all the sights and activities that the characters did, I felt like I was right there with them.

I really wanted to like the main character Iris, but for most of the book I found myself frustrated with her because of her lack of interest in her hometown and family’s interests and complaining. For most of the book she was constantly comparing her life to one that she hoped she would have in the big city and couldn’t wait to leave. I found her discontentment towards her life very frustrating. Towards the end of the book, we as readers find out why she doesn’t enjoy the outdoors as much as her family and why she had left fear rule her life. I still had a hard time liking and connecting to her character which made it hard to finish the book, but I did.

Overall it was a good book with a good message about love and our life journey. I loved all the other family members, town characters, and especially the setting in Alaska.

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

About the Book:
Can he stop the one who got away—from getting away again?
Everyone in her Alaskan town hopes Iris James is back for good. Including Dr. Flynn Ramsey, who stole her heart when they were awkward teenagers. She realizes he’s planning an encore, but a prestigious job in Washington, DC, is calling to her. Only, ever since their kiss at her brother’s wedding, Iris isn’t sure about anything. Except her reignited feelings for Flynn…

“A Tender Hope” by Amanda Cabot

Tender Hope (Cimarron Creek Trilogy #3) by Amanda Cabot

I have read all three books in this series and I really enjoyed all of them! The characters from both books 1 and 2 are mentioned along with other towns people in this story.

This book had a good steady pace, interesting characters and story line-great historical drama with romance and some mystery.

I was sad to see the series end, but happy that some questions were answered and things brought to light by the end of book 3. I recommend this book and series-it was fun to read!

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

About the Book:
As far as Thea Michener is concerned, it’s time for a change. With her husband murdered and her much-anticipated baby stillborn, there is nothing left for her in Ladreville. Having accepted a position as Cimarron Creek’s midwife, she has no intention of remarrying and trying for another child. So when a handsome Texas Ranger appears on her doorstep with an abandoned baby, Thea isn’t sure her heart can take it.

Ranger Jackson Guthrie isn’t concerned only with the baby’s welfare. He’s been looking for Thea, convinced that her late husband was part of the gang that killed his brother. But it soon becomes clear that the situation is far more complicated than he anticipated–and he’ll need Thea’s help if he’s ever to find the justice he seeks.

Amanda Cabot invites readers back to Cimarron Creek for a tender story of loss, betrayal, and love in the majestic Texas Hill Country.

The Deputy’s Holiday Family (Rocky Mountain Heroes) by Mindy Obenhaus

The Deputy’s Holiday Family (Rocky Mountain Heroes) by Mindy Obenhaus

I absolutely love Christmas stories and this one was wonderful and easy to read!

This story followed Deputy Matt Stephens, one of the Stephens boys mentioned in book 1 of the Rocky Mountain Heroes series. His friend Lacie returns back to her hometown with her niece to spend the holidays with her mom. I loved how caring Lacie and Matt were to niece Kenzie and how they tried to make it a good Christmas even though her mom was gone.

I love reading about the close friendships and family dynamics of the Stephens family and the other families in town. I was happy that I got to read more about the characters from book 1 as well, including Dad Stephens. A story about second chances, hope, love and healing at Christmas time.

I have read both books in this series and highly recommend! Clean romance, christian, holiday fiction. I can’t wait to read more!

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

About the Book:
A Family for Christmas
Lacie Collier is determined to give her niece, Kenzie, the best Christmas! But Lacie’s got her work cut out for her when they spend the holidays at her Christmas-averse mother’s home. With his focus on keeping his own mother’s holiday traditions alive, sheriff’s deputy Matt Stephens is surprised to see his old friend Lacie back in Ouray. He’s always regretted that their friendship became strained after he started dating her sister in high school. But it’s pure shock he experiences when he sees Kenzie, whose uncanny resemblance to Matt is undeniable. This Christmas will bring new memories for Lacie and Matt…if they can open themselves to the possibility of love.
