High Cotton (Bucklin Family Reunion) by Debby Mayne

High Cotton (Bucklin Family Reunion #1) by Debby Mayne

I really liked this book and I’m thrilled this is actually a series of books! At first I wasn’t sure if I liked the different chapters going back and forth between a couple main characters but it wasn’t confusing and didn’t involve alot of family members like I thought at first. I actually liked it and liked hearing from other family members perspectives and their trials and day to day life.

Good steady plot-lots of laughs!! Loved all the family dynamics and personalities. Good, clean, christian fiction.

I can’t wait to read book 2 in this series which will be released in late August.

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

About the Book:
Some families are filled with so much love they can’t help but drive each other crazy.

Shay Henke has mixed feelings about going to her family’s next reunion. On the one hand, she’ll get to see everyone in her mama’s family–folks she loves unconditionally. On the other hand, she knows there’ll be more drama than you can shake a stick at.

The days leading up to the event bring one surprise after another. First Shay must deal with her sister-in-law’s deep, dark secret. Then she has to contend with the childish ways of her business-mogul twin cousins. And when her high school crush wants to be her date to the reunions . . . well, it may have been a dream come true for Shay’s teen self, but the woman she’s become doesn’t know what to make of this.

Shay’s contentment is challenged, and she’s determined to shake things up a bit. But will she find the excitement she’s looking for, or will Shay realize she prefers her quiet predictable life? One thing is certain: Life in the Bucklin family is never boring.

“You’re Gonna Love Me” by Robin Lee Hatcher

“You’re Gonna Love Me” by Robin Lee Hatcher

Sweet romantic story about love, forgiveness, second chances, and trusting in God. Samantha and Nick are reunited after years of being apart after their breakup. They still have feelings for each other but both want different things from life and have very different hobbies.

I love that they reunite in a completely different town and state from where they met and dated. I loved the town Thunder Creek and all the characters-Samantha, her grandmother Ruth, Camila, Nick’s parents, Boomer the dog, Derek and Brooklyn.

Great story and steady plot. I like that Nick and Samantha tried to work out their differences by communicating and asking God for guidance. Really enjoyed this sweet story! I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

About the Book:
Samantha Winters lives her life the way a good accountant should—measured, deliberate, and safe. After watching her father die in a tragic skiing accident, she decided never to allow risk into her life again. But she didn’t count on falling for Nick Chastain, who embodies everything she doesn’t want in her safely constructed world.

Against Samantha’s warnings, Nick plans a dangerous kayaking trip over spring break. Furious that he’s so careless with his life, she ends their fledgling relationship with harsh words.

Two years later, Samantha is desperately in need of a change. When she learns her grandmother has had an accident and is in need of a caretaker, Samantha quickly packs her bags and heads to Thunder Creek, Idaho. But nothing could prepare her for the surprise awaiting her in her grandmother’s hospital room . . . Nick.

With the charming backdrop of small-town friends, beloved cousins, and a whole church congregation rooting for them, can they set aside the disastrous ending of their first try at love? Has Nick changed enough to meet Samantha in the middle—and can she realize that a risk in love might be worth taking?

“His Risk” (The Amish of Hart County #4) by Shelley Shepard Gray *book review and giveaway*

His Risk: The Amish of Hart County by Shelley Shepard Gray

Calvin Fisher is the brother to Mark, whose story is book 2 in this series (His Guilt). Although the characters in Hart County all tie together, each book can be read as a stand alone.

Calvin begrudgingly returns to his hometown because his brother is very sick. Being home and around old neighbors brings back all the feelings and bad memories of the past. Calvin is no longer Amish, has a questionable past, and his current job could endanger those around him if the wrong people find him in Hart County. After meeting local school teacher Alice; Calvin is torn between trying to be honest to his family and friends versus keeping his word and loyalty to his Boss.

This story has great characters and a good, steady plot which kept my interest from beginning to end. I have read all the books in this series and really like this suspenseful, clean, Amish fiction series. “Her Fear” (The Amish of Hart County #5) will be released in July-I can’t wait!

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.
