The Great Escape (The Secret of the Hidden Scrolls, Book Three) by M. J. Thomas *book review & giveaway*

The Great Escape (The Secret of the Hidden Scrolls, Book Three) by M. J. Thomas

My son was THRILLED to receive book 3 from the author for book review. He absolutely loved the first 2 books and had been begging me for months as to when the third book would be released. My son is 7.5 and found these books fun and easy to read.

Here is his review in his own words:
“Midnight the panther and his master and the king of Egypt are trying to get their slaves back from Moses but they get swallowed by the ocean.

Peter and Mary meet the kings daughter after they escape from the panther.

My favorite part was when the panther and Satan the master got swallowed by the ocean.”

As you can see, my son takes his book reviews very seriously 😉 He loves historical fiction and time travel type books; and this series brings biblical stories to life for young readers.

We both highly recommend this Christian series for young readers ages 6-9. I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

With This Forever (Windswept Bay Book 10) by Debra Clopton

I have read all the books in this series and I’m sad to see it end. Debra Clopton is one of my favorite authors and I love her “series” books that involve family members.

Jake accidentally sees Sammy’s bucket list as he helps her move into her shop next door, so he starts to help her check things off her list. Things like scuba diving, kissing a man on a romantic beach, open her own business…

It was especially funny in chapter 1 how they first met each other outside Jake’s dive shop.

I loved their romantic chemistry, friendship and how they communicated with each other. I especially liked how Jake explained to Sammy about the purpose of her bucket list and what SHE wants to do, not what she thinks Granny wants her to do.

Good steady plot-clean, romantic, fun christian fiction book and series. Absolutely loved it and read it in one night!!

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

About the book:
Seamstress, Sammy Jo Lovely has never done a risky thing in her entire life. Now, alone and with a promise to her beloved granny that she’ll actually do the things on her bucket list, she’s moved to Windswept Bay to change her life. Learning to scuba dive is top of her list, along with swimming in the ocean, taking a boat ride and feeling the sand between her toes…yes, her life has been sheltered. Maybe being near the ocean and a dive shop will inspire her to actually do something. Then she meets her handsome new neighbor and what she wants in life takes on a whole new meaning.

Adventure lover and dive shop owner, Jake Sinclair isn’t sure why his quiet, slightly klutzy new neighbor has opened her “Lovely You” women’s boutique next door to his dive shop, it’s a very unlikely combination-just like they are. But, when he catches sight of her bucket list, he’s intrigued and can’t help but offer to help her check a few things off…such as “kissing on a moonlight beach.” But when it comes to “falling in love” he might be increasingly drawn to everything about Sammy “So” Lovely however that might be one thing on her list he can’t help her check off.

On the romantic shores of Windswept Bay can Sammy Jo help Jake realize that opening up to love is a risk worth taking?
