Saving Shadow (The Beckett Files, Book 1) by Laura Beers

This regency spy romance is set in England during the early 1800s. Lady Elizabeth is a fantastic character and I really enjoyed reading this thrilling story and her interactions as a spy. Along with Benedict and Jonathan-this trio sets out to find the men responsible for the kidnapping and slavery of several local women. I loved their whit and banter back and forth and how well all three of them worked together. It was heartbreaking to read about Eliza’s emotional struggles with trying to protect helpless women while having to kill ruthless men in the process. Knowing she is helping, yet taking a person’s life was starting to really affect her.

I also liked some of the side characters in the book like Mr. Larson, Uncle Charles and Martha. All of them had an important role in sharping Lady Elizabeth into the spy and wonderful woman she was. They also tried to help her see how important it is to have faith and love in someone, despite all the evil and wrong in the world.

I truly can’t say enough about this book! It had a good ending and definitely left an opening for the author to write more books in this series. Good steady plot with lots of drama and some clean romance.

Biography
Laura Beers spent most of her childhood with a nose stuck in a book, dreaming of becoming an author. She attended Brigham Young University, eventually earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management.
Many years later, and with loving encouragement from her family, Laura decided to start writing again. Besides being a full-time homemaker to her three kids, she loves waterskiing, hiking, and drinking Dr. Pepper. Currently, Laura Beers resides in South Carolina.

Imperfect Justice (Hidden Justice #2) by Cara C. Putman

This is book 2 in the Hidden Justice series but they can be read as stand alone books. I couldn’t put this book down!! The story was very intriguing, thrilling, and kept me interested from the first to last chapter.

I liked the christian aspect through out this book as well-that attorney Emilie kept God in her life asking him for guidance and protection. It was sad to read about all the domestic abuse and home violence that these women had to face on a regular basis. I could sympathize the need for Emilie to help them but also how emotionally draining and hard her job was on a daily basis.

Dangerous Illusions (Code of Honor) by Irene Hannon

This story was outstanding!! Fast paced drama with lots of suspense. I read it in 2 nights because I couldn’t put it down. My teenager and mother really liked it as well. I have read other books by this author and have enjoyed them as well so I was excited to read this especially after reading the book description.

I sympathized with Trish and the agony and worry she felt about her mom and the accidents that kept happening. Detective Colin was a great character as well. I really liked how he started to care for Trish but he was careful to keep things professional while working on her case.

If you want edge-of-your-seat suspense with some clean romance, than this book is for you! This is the start to a new series called “Code of Honor” and I can’t wait to read more!

I love books by this author so I was really excited to read this book, especially after reading the book description.

This story was so charming, romantic, fun and a good steady pace! Bella and Carson were great main characters and I loved Carson’s love for his daughter and protectiveness.

Clean romantic story about love, family and forgiveness. I highly recommend this ebook and other stories by this author!! I read this story in one night because I found it so fun and engaging.
