“Marrying Christopher” by Michele Paige Holmes

From Amazon Top 100 Regency Romance author, Michele Paige Holmes, comes MARRYING CHRISTOPHER, a regency romance from the Hearthfire Romance series.

This story started out in England in the 1800s and moved to America as the two main characters-Christopher and Marsali-await their adventure in the new world.

This was a clean, romantic, historical fiction book with some intrigue as well. Although I haven’t read the other two Hearthfire Romance books from this author, I very much enjoyed this one and didn’t feel lost in the story line.

The characters were realistic and descriptive, and I especially liked how Christopher was portrayed as such a Gentleman. I was drawn into the story line and characters and enjoyed “Marrying Christopher” through the very end!

I received a complimentary copy of this ebook from the author, in exchange for an honest review on my blog and social media. All opinions are my own.

Book Description:
Having seen both his sisters Grace and Helen happily married, Christopher Thatcher is free to pursue his dream of life in America. With adventure in his heart and mind, he boards one of the first steamships set to cross the Atlantic in the record breaking time of only twenty-five days. Within the first two of those, his resolve—to avoid women and the complications they often bring to a man’s life—falters when he meets Marsali Abbott, a young woman with a past even more troubling than his own. Whether from years of habit protecting his sisters, or simply because he feels drawn to Marsali, Christopher chooses to help her and becomes her friend. As the truth about what awaits Marsali in America becomes evident, he is faced with a more difficult choice, one that will impact their lives far beyond four weeks together at sea.

Biography
Michele Paige Holmes spent her childhood and youth in Arizona and northern California, often curled up with a good book instead of out enjoying the sunshine. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Elementary Education, and found it an excellent major in which to indulge her love of children’s literature.

Her first novel, COUNTING STARS (Covenant Communications 2007), won the 2007 Whitney Award for best romance. The sequel, a romantic suspense titled, ALL THE STARS IN HEAVEN (Covenant 2009), was a Whitney finalist, as was her first historical romance, CAPTIVE HEART (Covenant 2011). MY LUCKY STARS (Covenant 2012) completed the Stars series.

In October 2014 Michele launched the Hearthfire historical romance line with the publication of SAVING GRACE (Mirror Press 2014). The companion novel, LOVING HELEN (Mirror Press 2015) was released in February 2015. A third book about this same family, MARRYING CHRISTOPHER, will be published in summer 2015, with another historical to follow later this year.

Michele has been a member of the same critique group for over fifteen years and feels that joining a critique group is the single best thing an author can to do help improve his or her writing. She has been a member of RWA and URWA, LDStorymakers, and The League of Utah Writers. Michele enjoys both attending and teaching at conferences.

When not reading or writing romance, Michele is busy with her full time job as a wife and mother. She and her husband live in Utah with their five high maintenance children and a Shitzu that resembles a teddy bear, in a house with a wonderful view of the mountains. “The Berenstain Bears Storybook Bible for Little Ones” (Berenstain Bears/Living Lights) Board book by Jan & Mike Berenstain

We received this book in the mail yesterday and my son has already looked at it all the way through and we’ve read most of the stories out loud together. Although this book is a board book and designed for toddlers, my 5 year old loves it! The pictures and easy words make it simple for him to understand and encourage sight/word recognition with young readers.

The shorter stories make it perfect reading for at church or before bed. Each story has 2-4 pages. There are 8 stories included in this book-Creation, Noah Builds an Ark for God, David Meets Goliath, Daniel in the Lions’ Den, The Birth of Jesus, The Good Neighbor, Jesus In Jerusalem, and He Is Risen!.

I was worried my son would be too old for this book, but we are both really pleased with the content and presentation of this Storybook Bible for Little Ones!

I received this book complimentary from booklookbloggers.com in exchange for an honest review on my blog and social media. All opinions are my own.

About the Book
The Berenstain Bears Storybook Bible for Toddlers is perfect for young children. Now toddlers have a padded board book edition designed just for them, with simple text, bright art, and a padded cover. This cute and durable edition provides an overview of the Bible with ten stories from the Old and New Testaments that follow the Bear family as they explore Scripture. The Berenstain Bears Storybook Bible for Toddlers is fun and enlightening for kids and a great resource for parents and educators.

About the Author
Stan and Jan Berenstain introduced the first Berenstain Bear books in 1962. Mike Berenstain grew up watching his parents work together to write about and draw these lovable bears. Eventually he started drawing and writing about them too. Though Stan died in 2005, and Jan in 2012, Mike continues to create the delightful Bear adventures from the family home and studio in Pennsylvania, in an area that looks much like the sunny dirt road deep in Bear Country.

#NoExcuseMom circuit workout at the park

You will need hand weights and a yoga mat for this video that I made at the park yesterday.

I was exhausted (had a scout camp out this weekend) and it was hot and buggy. I also messed up on my sequence of the routine-sorry!-and my son was acting a little wild.

But thats real life, and thats what being a NoExcuseMom and NEM leader is all about! 🙂

Comment below if you have any questions and hope you enjoy the exercise circuit!
