For Workout Wednesday I’m going to be sharing Fitness and Health books that I am currently reading.

Cassey Ho’s Hot Body Year-Round: The POP Pilates Plan to Get Slim, Eat Clean, and Live Happy Through Every Season

Since I have been following health and fitness websites for a couple of years now, I have heard of Cassey Ho but hadn’t tried any of her workouts. I was excited to receive this book for blog review and immediately started reading it. I was touched by Cassey’s story in the preface, which made her more inspiring and personable to me. She did an OUTSTANDING job on this book! The pages are thick and glossy; with colorful, bright exercise and recipe pictures. I can’t believe the retail of this book-it’s worth way more than $18!

Part 1 of the book talks about “The Plan”. She included a beginners workout calendar as well as an intermediate to advanced workout calendar. You do not need any equipment for her workouts except a yoga mat if you would prefer. She explains the common POP Pilates Vocabulary and what each word means (for example what a pilates C-curve is). She talks about clean eating and shares her typical daily meal plan. She talks about how much water to drink and goal setting.

Then she moves to Part 2 which is called the seasons. There are 4 sections-Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. Each seasons section has 5 workout, and each workout has a couple exercises with very good descriptions and pictures. She also shares seasonal recipes and pictures for each season. Like I said, they did a beautiful job with all the pictures in this book!

I was a little confused by the book description online that states this book has 20 full length workouts. There is no dvd that comes with this book. The book has all the workouts and exercises so you can follow her suggested calendar on page 18.

This book has 255 pages in it and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting ideas for fitness workouts and eating clean.

I have become a huge fan of Colleen Coble when I discovered her books last year. I love that her books are clean and most of them are very suspenseful and mysterious.

“A Heart’s Obsession” is book two of six in the Journey of the Heart series. These books were the first series author Colleen Coble ever wrote, and writing was how she dealt with her brothers sudden death. These books haven’t been in print form in over 10 years. They were originally titled “Where Leads the Heart” and “Plains of Promise”.

This short story picked up where book 1 left off. I don’t think they would make much sense if they aren’t read together and in order. I wouldn’t consider this Colleen Coble’s typical writing since it’s not suspenseful, but it’s still a good book.

Sarah leaves Indiana and travels out to Wyoming with her friends to start a new life. She tries to ignite the love that she and Rand had before the war, but is it too late?

Don’t read the book description because it pretty much gives you a plot recap and you won’t be surprised with anything that happens.

“Willie’s Redneck Time Machine” is book 1 in the “Be Your Own Duck Commander” series by John Luke Robertson (Author) and Travis Thrasher.

“I have never read or seen duck commander. If you like duck commander, then you’ll probably love this book. Me personally, I didn’t really like them. It’s a fun book that you can pick your own ending though. It does have a little bit of language (words like dumb, stupid, shut up) which I didn’t like because we don’t talk like that at my house. I thought Willie was cool.”
