Cold Case Trail (Love Inspired Suspense) by Sharee Stover

I loved the k9 Magnum, his handler Trey, and Justine in this suspenseful, fast paced book. I really enjoy reading books by this author and I especially love reading about k9 working dogs so I was very excited to read this book… and it didn’t disappoint! Once you starting reading, you will not want to stop!

From the very beginning there was action, suspense, questions and a deadly game of cat and mouse. Justine is trying to re open an old case and find her friends killer after 10 years once she finds her old journal. Her previous friend Trey gets involved trying to help her solve the cold case which puts them both in the killers crosshairs. I liked reading about their memories, their love for dogs, trying to solve the case and renewing their friendship.

Great characters, riveting story line…friendship, faith, danger and forgiveness were all a big part of the story.

MY REVIEW

This was such a delightful quick read! I loved getting to know Veronica (Ronnie), her brother Tiago, and especially Peter. I enjoyed reading about how Veronica’s army days and how that along with her traumatic childhood – shaped her and made her a successful EMS and loving sister to Tiago. She is a perfect example of how you don’t let your bad past determine your future.

Peter was a great character and I liked seeing him grow and develop in this book with Veronica encouraging him to make his own choices and not worry about what other people think.  He was very patient with Veronica and Tiago and a great friend to them both.

The characters were all very different and fun to read about. I loved hearing about other characters from previous series and other books as well.

Crazy for you is about family, love and second chances. I absolutely can’t wait to read more about the town and characters in future books in this series.

“Eye For An Eye” by Stephanie Black

With less than 100 pages, this suspenseful novella is a quick read and very very good! Easy to read in one sitting, it kept my interest with the story line and characters. I enjoyed getting to know Mallory and I’m so glad she had a friend like Darien to help her! Everyone needs a friend like that!

Clean suspense-perfect for an afternoon read and for a way for readers to try out this authors writing style. If you haven’t read any of her full length novels, I would highly recommend them!

I have enjoyed reading this series and getting to know the three sisters and watching them mature and evolve, along with the little town.

This story mostly focuses on Blaine returning to the island in hopes of opening a restaurant. She brings her friend Jean Paul who continues to have hilarious and unfortunate mishaps throughout the entire book. I liked reuniting with previous book characters like Peg and Captain Ed.

Of course with having three sisters they are bound to have family drama and miscommunication, but I like how they figure things out and eventually smooth things over.

This book also includes flashbacks when Blaine was younger which was interesting and helped readers understand the struggles she currently faced emotionally.

I really enjoyed the flow of the book and characters. It kept my interest from beginning to end. I definitely recommend reading these books in order.

“Pine Creek Courtship” by Amity Hope

I really enjoyed reading this Amish fiction story from cover to cover from this new to me author.

Emma, her sister Sadie and brother Zeke are struggling financially to keep their farm after the death of their father and with their mother being gone years prior. Emma’s old time friend Levi steps in to court Emma so she can continue to raise her siblings on their family farm without the interference of her busybody aunt.

I liked reading about Emma and her interactions with her siblings and with her cousin Amelia. Although she and Levi had a great friendship growing up, they had a falling out and hadn’t been friends for quite a while so I enjoyed reading about their renewed friendship. I enjoyed seeing Zeke blossom with confidence with Levi’s help and guidance. Sadie reminded me so much of my own son with her love of animals, especially her pet chickens.

This story had wonderful characters, interesting and engaging plot from beginning to end, clean romance and drama. I would love to read more about this family in future books.
