“The Key to Love” by Betsy St. Amant

I enjoyed reading this clean, funny, romantic fiction story-although I wouldn’t consider it Christian fiction.

Both characters had relationship insecurities that made them sarcastic and quick to shut down before expressing their “real feelings” and emotions; but over time they were both able to talk and share which made them more relatable and likeable.

I’m glad Bri learned what the “key to love”, what “real love” was about from her family and friends and that is was not some big elaborate happily ever after-hard to achieve love.

This was a fun, light hearted story. The characters were good but not really a book I would read again because of their constant sarcastic nature.

Point of Danger (Triple Threat Book #1) by Irene Hannon

I have been reading author Irene Hannon’s book for years and LOVE them! This was a captivating, clean, romantic suspense that I absolutely enjoyed reading! I can’t say enough good things about it!

The cover is beautiful, the characters are down to earth and engaging, the story line was unpredictable, and the suspense was steady and interesting was beginning to end. I would have read it in one night if I had enough time.

As a side note, I loved Eve’s two sisters and I’m hoping they will each get their own story as well.

Can’t wait to read more from this NEW “Triple Threat” series!

My Review

This was a sweet, fun to read, holiday twist of the classic “The Christmas Carol” story. I love heartwarming Harlequin books because they are clean, easy to read, entertaining and a great escape from real life.

I have read other books by this author and especially enjoyed this one because of the holiday theme and wedding venue-so magical! I liked the main characters Phoebe and Cash (although he was very stubborn and clueless sometimes!) and their playful banter and how their friendship grew over the story.

Cash gets visited by 3 previous women from his past (like the ghosts in The Christmas Carol) where he is able to come to terms and figure out what went wrong. Don’t we all wish we could have a redo or figure out what went wrong in a relationship?

Lots of laughs and holiday spirit in this entertaining story. I really enjoyed it!

“Otherwise Engaged” by Joanna Barker

I really enjoyed reading this clean Regency Romance! I loved Rebeccas’s wit, enthusiasm for life, and her determination to never give up despite her accident. The other main character-her neighbor-Lieutenant Nicholas was also a great character! I liked reading about his love for family and his acceptance as plans he thought he once wanted, had changed. I liked reading about their friendship and their love for the outdoors and learning. Rebecca’s family and how they teased and protected her was also a good element in the story and showed the importance of family.

I love reading about the time period and their customs and “proper behavior”. I have read other books by this author and really enjoyed this one as well! This was a great, easy to read story! It made me laugh and smile many times through out-highly recommend if you like clean regency romances.

MY REVIEW:

I knew from the very beginning of this book that I would be reading it long into the night so I could finish. From the very first chapter I was drawn into the story and the main characters Melissa, Dylan and US Marshall Miles.

I love “cowboy lawman” romantic suspense books and this book hit the mark for me! I loved reading about Mile’s family and ranch and hope to read more books about them specifically. I loved the way they protected their family and helped Melissa and Dylan when they were in danger.

Non stop action, clean romance, a lawman pretending to be married to his witness assignment, mobsters… Highly recommend reading this fast paced book but once you  start you won’t want to put it down!
