The Resilient One by Cami Checketts
Alyssa had a troubled upbringing so trusting men or even wanting to get married is not on her to do list! Even though she made the Billionaire Bride Pact at camp as a teenager, she has no intentions of ever following thru. While in Maui she meets former NHL star and they hit it off right away. But she has secrets in her past and so does he. Can they be honest with each other and learn to love and trust?
I really, really enjoyed this story!
I read “The Passionate One” (another Billionaire Bride Pact book) first before this one because I didn’t know what order to read them in. This was a clean, romantic, story with some drama. I loved all the character developments and story line which kept my interest the whole time.
I really love author Cami Checketts’s books and this one doesn’t disappoint!

The Passionate One by Jeanette Lewis
Erin and Matt live in the same apartment complex and have been friends for years. The only problem is that Matt wants to be more than friends with Erin but she doesn’t want to open her heart to the possibility. Erin has always had dreams of making it big on Broadway and finally gets a chance to go to New York. She leaves everything behind to start a new life, including her friendship with Matt.
I loved Matts character as well as his job profession. He was obviously very skilled with what he did! Matt was always kind and helping out his family and Erin with anything she needed. I felt like Erin’s character was a little selfish because she was always so concerned about her dreams that she didn’t even know the financial mess that Matt’s family business was in. She was always expecting him to bail her out and help her with things regardless of how she treated him.
I enjoyed this book but it wasn’t a favorite. I love the concept of the Billionaire Bride Pact series and I can’t wait to read more books in this series involving the other girls from camp. This story was a clean romance.
