Deception (Natchez Trace Park Rangers Book #4) by Patricia Bradley

Deception (Natchez Trace Park Rangers Book #4) by Patricia Bradley

Just when I thought it couldn’t get better, it did! Lots of drama, suspense and twists and turns in this book. I enjoyed reading every chapter from beginning to end!

ISB ranger Madison wasn’t my favorite character because she was constantly running away from her feelings and avoiding talking or confronting people which really annoyed me. But she acknowledged she did that because of growing up with a bi-polar mother and tried to do better. Clayton and Madison worked well together to find out why her grandfather was attacked and in doing so, opened up to a bunch of skeletons in the closet. Who was a friend? Who wasn’t?

Letting go of grief, addictions, anger, forgiveness, and having faith in God were all themes in this book. The author did a great job of weaving in the suspense and having relatable characters with different problems all throughout the story. I really enjoyed it! Although it’s book 4 in the Park Rangers series, they can be read as stand alone novels.

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

About the Book:
After being forced to kill an FBI agent gone rogue in self-defense while working in the violent crimes unit for the Investigative Services Branch, ranger Madison Thorn is comfortable with her move to the fraud and cyber division. At least numbers don’t lie. So she’s less than thrilled when a white-collar crime investigation in Natchez, Mississippi, turns violent. She could also do without being forced to work with former-childhood-enemy-turned-infuriatingly-handsome park ranger Clayton Bradshaw.

When a woman who looks just like Madison is attacked on the same night Madison’s grandfather is shot, it becomes clear that there is something much bigger going on here and that Madison herself is in danger. Madison and Clayton will have to work together–and suppress their growing feelings for one another–if they are to discover the truth before it’s too late.
