“The Killing Tide” (Coastal Guardians) by Dani Pettrey

“The Killing Tide” (Coastal Guardians) by Dani Pettrey

This book was incredible! Lots of heart pounding suspense and action and from beginning to end. Clean romance between Finn and Gabby throughout the story. I couldn’t put the book down!

I was immediately drawn in by the story line and interesting characters. I was somewhat frustrated by Gabby and her lack of judgement sometimes which made her an easy target. I can not relate to wanting to investigate a story or solve a crime so much that my life doesn’t matter. I also felt like at times she was leading Finn on like she had done in the past-knowing she liked him and was drawn physically to him; but not wanting to invest in a relationship or jeopardize her own character path. She wasn’t my favorite character because of that.

I really liked reading about the Coast Guard officers and some of their rescues and day to day obligations. I especially liked Finn and Noah (Gabby’s brother). They both took their jobs seriously and with protecting their family members and loved ones.

I hope there will be more “Coastal Guardian” books! I really enjoyed it!!

About the Book:
When one Coast Guard officer is found dead and another goes missing, Coast Guard Investigative Service special agent Finn Walker faces his most dangerous crime yet. His only clues are what little evidence remains aboard the dead officer’s boat, and the direction the clues point to will test Finn and the Guard to their limits.

When investigative reporter–and Finn’s boss’s sister–Gabby Rowley arrives, her unrelenting questions complicate an already volatile situation. Now that she’s back, the tug on Finn’s heart is strong, but with the risks she’s taking for her next big story, he fears she might not live through it.

Thrown together by the heinous crime, Finn and Gabby can’t ignore the sparks or judgments flying between them. But will they be able to see past their preconceptions long enough to track down an elusive killer, or will they become his next mark?

“The Bull Rider’s Secret” (Colorado Grooms) by Jill Lynn

The Bull Rider’s Secret (Colorado Grooms #3) by Jill Lynn

I read Colorado Grooms book #2 earlier this year and loved it so I was thrilled to read an early copy of this book #3. I loved the main character Mackenzie and her strong character, her love for the ranch, and for helping others. I could feel the emotions and heartache leap thru the pages when Jace and Mackenzie tried talking about the past and their emotional breakup. I loved reading more about Emma and Gage from book 2 and the other family and town members.

Clean romance and great characters full of love, laughter and tears as they work thru regret and forgiveness. I really enjoyed reading it!

“A Family for Jason” (Back to Bluestone River #1) By Virginia McCullough

MY REVIEW:
I loved this sweet romance story involving Mike, Ruby and Jason. I loved reading about their town and their high school memories and growing up. It was so tragic how a past mistake affected so many lives for so many years.

I loved reading how Mike and Ruby try to help Jason with his traumatic past and examples with how therapy was working and the things they did as parents/adults to help a child cope with loss.

Great story line, great characters, clean romance… I can’t wait to read more about this town and hopefully the town’s progress over the series of stories. I really enjoyed it!

“Falling for Her Bodyguard” by Amy Vastine *review & giveaway*

MY REVIEW:
This was a really sweet story! Romance…drama…whats not to like?!

There was even an element of suspense as Kelly and Detective Donovan try to figure out who Kelly’s stalker before things escalate further. I loved reading about Donovan’s niece and nephew and their roles in the story. I could definitely relate to him trying to raise his teenager and the struggles that go along with that. Kelly was a sweet, caring, enthusiastic character-I loved her!

I haven’t read any of the other books in the “Grace Note Records” series-they can be read as stand alone novels. This story kept my interest from beginning to end. I highly recommend this easy, heartwarming, fun book!

“Fool’s Deadly Gold” by Clair M. Poulson *review & giveaway*

“Fool’s Deadly Gold” by Clair Poulson
I really enjoyed this steady-pace suspense and drama book! There were lots of twists to the story line which kept me guessing and wondering if everyone was the “bad guy”. I really liked the main characters Dade, his daughter, and Lauralyn. All the characters were interesting as the plot continued to thicken and develop.

There were some references to praying and visits from church members and leaders, and the book was free from bad language and graphic violence which I really appreciate! I really enjoyed this story and read it in one night because I couldn’t put it down!

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

About the Book:
Lauralyn LaPlant and her sister, Bridgette, could not be closer. Their shared passion for adventure draws them to scale a sheer cliff one fateful day, but despite their experienced precautions, Bridgette suffers a terrible accident and plummets to an untimely death.
