“Whiteout” by Brett Cain

I enjoyed reading this suspenseful novel. It had a good steady pace with interesting characters. It was hard to relate to the main character “Sawyer” though since he was an early 20s-very cocky at times and made stupid decisions.

Overall though I enjoyed the book and the story line. I think my 17 year old son would really enjoy it or other young adults. Clean suspense novel with no language or explicit scenes-only fighting violence.

About the Book:

An Alaskan Proposal (A Northern Lights Novel Book 4) by Beth Carpenter

I absolutely loved this book! I haven’t read anything from this author, or in fact anything from the “Heartwarming” Harlequin series, but the book description really intrigued me. I also didn’t know it was book 4 in a series, and I could tell with some of the character development that they must have been mentioned previously. It can be read as a stand alone novel, but I do plan on going back and reading more books from this series.

I loved the imagery of Alaska and the feel of community I got from reading this story. The main characters Sabrina and Leith were great. Leith’s niece and the 2 dogs were also big characters in the book which was fun. Sabrina’s experiences with learning about the outdoors for her job was hilarious! I really enjoyed it and would recommend it.

I really enjoyed reading this book! It would be perfect for Family Home Evening material or to use as a reference for an upcoming church lesson or talk. Especially if you are studying the New Testament!

Each chapter will help readers understand more about each specific Beatitude by using scriptures, doctrine, and real life examples. If you aren’t sure what “The Beatitudes” are, chapter 1 will answer that and share the history behind the “Sermon on the Mount”.

“The Beatitudes give us the roadmap for living a Christ centered life. They present the character traits and holy attributes that Jesus desires in His followers…indeed, the Beatitudes are guideposts that mark the way to peace in this world and eternal life in the world to come.”

The Rancher’s Homecoming (Return of the Blackwell Brothers #5) by Anna J. Stewart (released Dec 2018)

This story followed Chance, the youngest and last of the Blackwell brothers. What a great story to end an amazing series!

I loved reading Chance and Katie’s story and their happy ever after. I also loved reading about the other Blackwell brothers and their significant others as their stories continued. I still did not care for Ben, one of the other brothers, as previously mentioned in another review. I wish they had made him into a better character than he was portrayed.

The brothers finally reach a decision about whether to sell or keep the ranch and as readers we finally get to see what happens to Big E (grandfather to the boys) and why he disappeared.

I think the authors did a wonderful job with putting this series together and I would highly recommend reading them all in order to get the most out of the characters. I wound love to read a novella (quick story) to follow up with the characters read about their upcoming weddings and future plans.

This series was fun to read, had great characters, beautiful ranch setting in Montana, and included clean romance and drama. Highly recommend!

The Rancher’s Fake Fiancée (Return of the Blackwell Brothers #4) by Amy Vastine (released Nov 2018)

Main characters Tyler (another brother and twin to Chase) and Hadley (Tyler’s work assistant and pretend fiancee) travel to the Montana ranch to help with an advertising plan as the brothers decide whether to sell or keep the ranch. No one knows what has happened to Big E, especially after his latest ex-wife shows up back into town.

I loved the character Hadley and how fast she blended in with the family and how she tried to help the brothers see what a blessing and asset the ranch can be to them.

I have really enjoyed the character development in this series since the brothers, couples, and towns people are all mentioned in every book so readers can continue to find out about their lives and romances. I can’t wait to read the final book (book #5) in this series and hope to find out what has happened to Big E and the final decision about the Ranch.
