Spy books by Jordan McCollum

I, Spy (Spy another day series-Book number 1)

My Review:
This book was written by character Talia. She lives two separate lives-one where she goes to church and has a boyfriend Danny. The other where she works with Elliott and is a CIA operations officer. Then her two separate lives collide and people start getting hurt and she doesn’t know who to trust. This book was fast paced-great adventure! I felt like I was reading a “James Bond” type book and couldn’t stop reading it! Good clean reading and definitely not boring!

Amazon.com description:

Canada is probably the last place you’d expect to find an American spy. But even idyllic Ottawa has its deadly secrets—and so does CIA operative Talia Reynolds. She can climb through ventilation shafts, blend in at the occasional diplomatic function, even scale buildings (small ones). But there’s one thing she can’t do: tell her aerospace engineer boyfriend Danny about her Top Secret occupation.
It worked for a year, keeping Danny in the dark, keeping him away from danger, keeping her secrets. And then Talia finally catches a hot case: Fyodor Timofeyev. Russian. Aerospace executive. Possible spy?
She can make this work, too—until Danny needs her at the same time her country does. And when Fyodor targets Danny? Suddenly her schedule isn’t the only thing suffering. Now to save her secrets and her country, Talia must sacrifice the man she loves.

Spy Noon (Spy another day prequel number 1)

My Review:
This book is written by character Talia. Not a full length novel like I, spy. Talia goes on a couple missions and has funny interactions with her partner Elliott. Fast paced, great reading. Talia character reminds me of Alias. Loved it!

amazon.com description:

Canada’s the last place you’d expect to find an American spy, but CIA operative Talia Reynolds has problems piling up higher than a Canadian snowbank. When Elliott Monteith, her ridiculously handsome new coworker, shows up (and shows her up), Talia decides it’s game on. She’ll be the first to track down a dangerous counter-spy, and she’ll give Elliott an unforgettable souvenir of his time in Ottawa: some humble pie.
Her plans don’t work as well as she expects, though. Elliott’s over-the-top flirting dredges up too many painful memories for Talia and undermines the confidence she’s worked hard to regain. To do her job and keep her integrity intact, she’ll have to keep her personal feelings at bay. Now Talia must find a way to work alongside Elliott—and maybe even trust him—to outsmart the enemy.

Mr. Nice Spy (Spy another day prequel number 2)

My Review:

This book is written by character Elliott. Not a full length novel like I, spy. I liked reading about Elliott’s interactions with his partner Talia and girlfriend Shanna, along with some adventure. Very confusing relationship with his girlfriend-wasn’t sure where it was heading but it all worked out in the end. This was my first reading of this series. Can’t wait to read more in this series!

amazon.com description:
Canada is probably the last place you’d expect to find an American spy. CIA operative Elliott Monteith has made it work, just like he’s made things work with his longtime fiancée Shanna. Until Shanna lays out an ultimatum:move forward or move on. Meanwhile, Elliott and his best friend and fellow operative, Talia Reynolds, try to track an elusive leak at the American embassy.
But something changes between Elliott and Talia as they close in on the man selling out his country. Professional and personal lines blur and Elliott has to choose—his fiancée or his best friend.

#naturade super fan of the week!

I’m so excited that I was chosen to be the SuperFan of the week for Naturade!
I love their protein powders-they taste good and they are gluten free, dairy free and no dyes!

Have you ever tried any of their products? You should definitely check them out. I highly recommend their products!!

SuperFan of the Week: Rachel DeVaughn

Rachel DeVaughn lives in Virginia with her husband and two boys. In her spare time she loves to blog, read, scrapbook, exercise and spend time with her family.
Rachel hasn’t always lived a healthy, active lifestyle. After having her second baby in the summer of 2010, she reached her highest weight of 250 pounds! Rachel was tired of being winded with walking up the stairs and not having energy to play with her boys, so in the summer of 2011 she decided to start making some lifestyle changes. Since that time, Rachel has lost over 85 pounds and has kept it off simply by starting small and being consistent.
Rachel started walking 15 minutes at a time, counting calories, and eating healthier; and has now progressed to doing 45-60 minutes of exercise daily. Rachel enjoys trying new workout programs at home and different healthy foods. She likes to share with others what she’s doing on her blog and with doing product reviews. She also loves to exercise with her two boys and strives to be a good example with her fitness and nutrition for her family and friends.
Rachel found Naturade products online last year when she was searching for dairy free protein powders that would be tasty and have good ingredients. Since Rachel is mostly living a gluten free, dairy free lifestyle, she said “Naturdade has been the perfect choice for me! The Chocolate VeganSmart tastes amazing and my son loves when I share my protein drink with him. and I can share with him knowing he won’t have issues drinking it since its dairy free and nothing artificial in it.”  Rachel loves to make her Naturade Chocolate protein drink with water, frozen fruit and spinach leaves.
Rachel hopes to be able to inspire others through her actions and on her blog. Rachel firmly believes that healthy eating and exercising needs to be a lifestyle commitment, not a temporary quick fix. You can keep up with Rachel on TwitterInstagram and Pinterest.

A Grand Design-Quilts of Love series by Amber Stockton

Alyssa decides to return to Mackinac Island with her best friend after being gone for over 15 years. She stays for 2 weeks on the Island helping her grandmother collect quilt pieces for a memory quilt, spending time site seeing, and getting to know her grandmother’s friend Scott. Alyssa never shared with anyone what had happened to her the last time she visited the Island, but eventually she was able to talk about it and start to heal and trust others.

I loved one section of the book that said, “…we have to leave some things up to God and not attempt to control everything. His plans are always the best, no matter what we might think.”

I loved reading about Alyssa’s relationship with her friend and grandmother. Beautiful romantic ending.

I would consider this book to be clean, christian, romantic fiction. A Grand Design is part of the Quilts of Love series. I would recommend reading this book! It kept my interest and was fun, light reading.

About Quilts of Love: Quilts tell stories of love and loss, hope and faith, tradition and new beginnings. TheQuilts of Love series focuses on the women who quilted all of these things into their family histories. A new book releases each month and features contemporary and historical romances as well as women’s fiction and the occasional light mystery. You will be drawn into the endearing characters of this series and be touched by their stories.

About the book:

A getaway on a charming island may be just what Alyssa needs—if only she can let go of her past.

When Alyssa Denham, a single career woman, wins a fun getaway for two on Mackinac Island where her grandmother lives, she gives her carefree best friend a call. Together, they tour the old shops and hidden treasures of the quaint island while helping Alyssa’s grandmother piece together an heirloom quilt. Their quest gains them entrance into the homes of many longtime residents of the island, parts of the city that are otherwise off limits to tourists.

As the quilt’s story takes shape, Alyssa gains amazing insight into her grandmother’s life . . . and attracts the attention of the handsome Scott Whitman, an island resident in charge of hotel transportation. Will memories of her past keep Alyssa from letting go? Or will the quest to piece together the heirloom quilt restore Alyssa’s fractured heart—and bring healing to her entire family?
