Sunrise (Sky King Ranch book 1) by author Susan May Warren

This clean Christian story was an awesome start to the brand new ‘Sky King Ranch” series!

It was set in Alaska with such descriptive imagery that I felt like I was there freezing and participating in events along with the characters. The story primarily followed Dodge, one of the triplets; along with his old girlfriend Echo who he had left behind in Alaska for the military.

I enjoyed the steady pace of the plot and getting to know Dodge and Echo’s families and the peaceful yet dangerous day-to-day life in Alaska. This book had some drama, clean romance, and some Jane Doe mystery towards the end of the book. The characters and storylines drew me in from the first page and I read it in one day because I could not stop reading.

I can’t wait to read more from this series which I hope will include other characters in the town and this family. I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

About the Book:
Pilot Dodge Kingston has always been the heir to Sky King Ranch. But after a terrible family fight, he left to become a pararescue jumper. A decade later, he’s headed home to the destiny that awaits him.

That’s not all that’s waiting for Dodge. His childhood best friend and former flame, Echo Yazzie, is a true Alaskan–a homesteader, dogsledder, and research guide for the DNR. Most of all, she’s living a life Dodge knows could get her killed. One of these days she’s going to get lost in the woods again, and his worst fear is that he won’t be there to find her.

When one of Echo’s fellow researchers goes missing, Echo sets out to find her, despite a blizzard, a rogue grizzly haunting the woods, and the biting cold. Plus, there’s more than just the regular dangers of the Alaskan forests stalking her . . .

Will Dodge be able to find her in time? And if he does, is there still room for him in her heart?

“Life Flight” (Extreme Measures) by Lynette Eason

Life Flight (Extreme Measures) by Lynette Eason

Life Flight is the start of a brand new series called Extreme Measures. This story took my breath away and keep me reading all night long. I can’t wait to read more in this thrilling new series!

This book focuses on EMS helicopter pilot Penny, her EMS crew and FBI special agent Holt. Holt and Penny find themselves working together in North Carolina as they chase clues and try to track down serial killer Darius Rabor before he strikes again.

This story had lots of action from the very beginning that lasted all the way to the end. It had interesting characters and lots of twists and turns. I couldn’t put the book down!

Due to the serial killer content; it was a little more horrific than I’m use to reading, but it was not graphic (dead bodies). I would still consider it a clean Christian fiction story with very light romance.

I can’t wait to read more in this series! I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
EMS helicopter pilot Penny Carlton is used to high stress situations, but being forced to land on a mountain in a raging storm with a critical patient–and a serial killer on the loose–tests her skills and her nerve to the limit. She survives with FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield’s help. But she’s not out of the woods yet.

In the ensuing days, Penny finds herself under attack. And when news reaches Holt that he may not have gotten his man after all, it will take all he and Penny have to catch a killer–before he catches one of them.

Deadly Target (Rocky Mountain Courage Book #2) by Elizabeth Goddard

Deadly Target (Rocky Mountain Courage Book #2) by Elizabeth Goddard

I really enjoyed this “Rocky Mountain Courage” book. It followed main character Erin as she tries to deal with current traumatic experiences along with flashbacks from long ago. I liked reading about Nathan and Erin as they explore a possible relationship again as they sort out their feelings. The two of them find themselves working together on cold cases and trying to figure out what is going on with Nathan‘s father and his accident.

This fast pace story had lots of action, great characters, unpredictable ending with twists and turns. Loved it although it was a little complicated. This can be read as a stand alone story.

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

MY REVIEW

I enjoyed this easy to read Amish clean romance story. Great characters and interesting plot with a nice flow that kept my interest from beginning to end.

After losing both their parents, Gail becomes responsible for the family ranch and sisters. It doesn’t take things long to fall apart, but when an old friend shows up at their doorstep they know he’s a Godsend.

Levi and his young son Seth travel the road going from rodeo to rodeo but find themselves stopping for a period of time to help Gail and her family ranch.

Gail and Levi’s friendship blossom throughout the story which was sweet to read. I also liked seeing Seth and his love for animals, helping and wanting to settle down in one place as a young boy. We also get to read about the day to day struggles and the work involved with working with cattle and ranching.

I really enjoyed this Amish clean fiction story!
