Love at the Apple Blossom Inn: A Rose Arbor Novella (Rose Arbor Series Book 4) by Kristy Tate

This was a cute, heart warming, romantic novella by Kristy Tate. This was my first book that I’ve read by this author and I thought it was really good!

Since it is a novella-short story-it doesn’t take very long to get through it. I enjoyed reading about the Rose Arbor town, characters, and the relationship that blossoms between Derrick and Janey. I loved reading about Janey’s relationship with her brother and Derrick’s love for music. I like that love and forgiveness were some of the themes in this story.

I’m not sure why the rating and reviews are a little low on amazon for this novella. I thought it was good and the story developed good enough during the short reading. The purpose of a novella is for it to be a short story-not a full length story.

You can download it FREE right now on amazon!

I received a complimentary copy of this ebook for blog and social media review from ebooksforreview.com. All opinions are my own.

About the book:
A small town girl.

A rock star living a lie.

Their paths cross and lead them down a road neither of them expected to find: love at the Apple Blossom Inn.
Janey knows that life doesn’t come with a happy-ending guarantee. She needs to keep her feet securely on the ground working two jobs, going to school, and caring for her little brother. She has no time or room for romance.

After an accident leaves his charmed life in ruins, Derrick abandons his Hollywood lifestyle and checks into rehab. The world believes that Derrick Cordell the rock star is dead. And despite his beating heart and breathing lungs, that’s exactly how he feels until, disguised and living incognito in the tiny town of Rose Arbor, Washington, he meets Janey, who loves him as plain old Eric Roudell, the wanna-be music teacher.

But secrets have a way of unraveling. When Janey discovers the truth about Eric/Derrick, how can she love someone she doesn’t even know? Especially since love is not on her to-do list?

Shadows in the Curtain by Cami Checketts *book review*

image

“Shadows in the Curtain” is a clean, suspenseful, mystery which kept me on the edge of my seat through out the entire book! I did not read this at night, because I had read some other reviews and did not want to get freaked out by the stalker in this book.

I thought I had the stalker and mystery figured out by the end of the book, but of course I was wrong.

Emmy experiences a horrible tragedy in her life and is left to pick up the pieces and figure out if the murderer and her stalker is the same person. She continues to workout at the gym, do piano lessons, and work at the theater so she can get some of her life back again. Every where she turns though, she runs into local fireman Josh. She feels guilty about being angry with him and being attracted to him at the same time.

But what if someone she knows, someone who is close to her, is the killer?

I have read other books by this author and I love that she writes very suspenseful, clean, thrilling books!

I received a copy of this e-book complimentary from the author in exchange for an honest review on my blog and social media. All opinions are my own.

About the Book
Every stage actress wants fans, but what happens when one goes too far?

Emmy has the perfect life– a house on the beach, a successful career headlining the local theater, and love. But when a brutal murder brings unimaginable grief, Emmy’s world comes crashing down. As she tries to pick up the pieces, she can’t seem to avoid Josh, the new fireman in town.

Emmy does her best to fight the sizzle in her chest when Josh is near. But with the stalker still out there, terrorizing her and those she cares about, she can’t fall for anyone–especially Josh, a suspect in the murder investigation.

If Emmy allows a man to get close, it’s not just her heart she puts at risk, it’s her life.

Liberty (Citizens of Logan Pond) (Volume 2) by Rebecca Belliston

image

“Liberty”-book 2 of Citizens of Logan Pond, picks up where book 1 left off. It took me a couple of chapters to remember the characters and story line since its been awhile since I’ve read book 1. I absolutely loved this book and it ended on a nail biting scene which left me wanting and waiting for book 3!

This was a clean, dramatic, fiction book taking place in a time where the USA is in rebellion and life is nothing like how we live now.

I liked the love triangle between Greg, Simmons, and Carrie. Danger awaits them at every turn and tragedy can strike at any time. The story kept me on the edge of my seat and I didn’t put it down until I was done. I absolutely loved it!! (and I’m so glad my life isn’t like theirs in the book!)

I received a copy of this e-book complimentary from the author in exchange for an honest review on my blog and social media. All opinions are my own.

Book Description:
Chicago is burning, a rebellion rises, but that’s the least of Carrie’s concerns. Patrolman Simmons is assigned new partners who threaten the security and secrecy of Carrie’s clan. Tensions are high, lines are drawn, and Carrie feels a wedge growing between her and Greg.

Haunted by past mistakes and impending tragedies, Greg knows he should distance himself from Carrie. He knows he should let her love the patrolman who can save her and her siblings, especially with money and resources dwindling. But knowing and doing are different matters. He’s busy hatching a plan to salvage things when his citizenship backfires, and he’s asked to do the unthinkable.

In this stunning follow-up to Life, loved ones are lost, allegiances are tested, and old enemies plot revenge. At every turn, the citizens of Logan Pond must ask: What price would you pay for the liberty of those you love?
